November 9, 2006.

I made $20 before I got out of bed this morning.

Perhaps it was the too many raclettes I had for dinner last night, but I awoke before dawn this morning, having tossed and turned and dreamed crazy dreams like the Rarebit Fiend.

I gave up and picked my notebook off the bedside table to catch up on the morning news. Blogniscient is my portal into the Blogosphere and that is where I spotted the news about the ReviewMe launch.

The concept is simple. ReviewMe helps companies with products, services, or web sites connect with mercenary bloggers and webmasters who are willing to write a 200 word review for a little cash.

I don't know about you, but before I buy a product, read a book, or order a DVD from Netflix, I google for reviews. I just want to see an unbiased opinion from someone who has already tried the product. Companies should be promoting reviews if they can do so at an affordable price.

So I clicked on the link to ReviewMe and checked it out. The signup was smooth and painless. Just enough information to get paid and identify my web site.

OK, now who is going to pay me to write reviews? To get the ball rolling, ReviewMe is paying out $25,000 to get their site reviewed. That sounds like an offer I can accept easily. So what if my share is only $20.

I took the bait and agreed to write a review. I have 48 hours to get it done. As you can see, I didn't take that long. It is now about ten minutes since I clicked on the link. I'll let you know when I see the cash in my PayPal account.

It's time to get up now.

This was a paid review

Update: On December 1, ReviewMe deposited $20.00 into my PayPal account.
